Veterinary Surgical Center
VSC is committed to providing the highest quality surgical care possible to our patients. Our core values include compassion, respect, motivation and initiative, integrity, reliability, professionalism, adaptability, and excellence. We treat our patients and clients with the utmost compassion and respect.
The referring veterinarian is an integral part of our treatment team. We treat referring veterinarians as partners in our practice. We understand that the referring veterinarian has the best rapport with our clients and will continue to be consulted by the client for many years to come, therefore we routinely consult with them in the decision making process.
VSC Code of Conduct and Ethics
At VSC, doctors and staff work side by side. Open communication fosters the teamwork necessary to go above and beyond basic care and provide the patient and client with superior quality veterinary medicine. Along with communication, adaptability plays a large role in the quality of veterinary medicine provided. Change is a necessary and continuous aspect of veterinary medicine and is critical to the success of our practice.
Internal Relations:
The Veterinary Surgical Center is a unique place to work. We encourage and foster harmony and mutual respect amongst all the departments within the facility. Each department contributes to the overall well being of our patients and the experience of our clients. Often we will ask the advice of another doctor without doing an official consultation and they will do the same with surgery. This fosters and promotes an environment of learning and cooperation with respect for all opinions, whether they originate with a staff member, a DVM, or a specialist. We are striving to make VSC a place of excellence with a unique and positive work atmosphere.
VSC realizes that we are perceived as part of our partnering emergency clinics and that our reputation is intimately tied to all services of these clinics, therefore, we encourage constructive criticism in order to help raise the standard of care given to both patients and clients in every aspect of the facility.
Research:
VSC is interested in clinical research and encourages all employees to participate when possible. Employees are urged to point out any unusual cases as veterinary medicine, doctors, and technicians can only advance through continual learning and education. We hope to share this knowledge and information with the referring and surgical community through publications and/or presentations at local and national meetings.
